Coconut is a tree crop that is grown in about ninety (90) countries across the world and is grown mostly in the coastal regions. 

 

WHY OWN A COCONUT FARM?

Coconut has many components and each of the components provide a huge list of benefits to the investor. The global coconut product market was valued at $11.5 billion in 2018 and is estimated to $31.1 billion in 2026 at a Compound Annual Growth Rate of 17.8%. Coconut Water

Coconut water provides a lot of health benefits including re-hydration, weight loss, a remedy for digestive system disorders and cholera. It is also used for intravenous hydration as well as controlling hypertension, lowering cholesterol levels and protecting the heart.

The coconut water market is expected to exceed more than US$ 2.5 Billion by 2024 at a Compound Annual Growth Rate of 15% in the given forecast period. According to Freedonia, a plant research in the international coal market Cleveland Ohio indicated that in the past five (5) years, the demand for imports of activated carbon from coconut shell charcoal increased by 7.73% / year and is estimated to increase from 10 % – 25% per year from 2013 – 2018 Due to the growth and market opportunities in the global charcoal, some charcoal producers have expanded production and sourcing raw materials from other countries. Coal exports in global activity in 2012 reached US $1,913.2 million and is expected to increase to US$ 5 million in 2019; which is a Compound Annual Growth rate increase of 14.8% per year.

In the Philippines, exports of activated carbon produced from coconut shell charcoal in 2009 was 22,985 tonnes to 47,150 tonnes and increased in 2013.

 

Coconut Shell Activated Carbon

The world has a very high demand on the use of activated carbon produced from coconut shell charcoal.

Coconut shells are usually used by artists to produce items such as containers for trinkets, treasures, keys and toys, natural candle holders, bowls for holding smaller nuts and others.
